So I would like to begin this by saying there is a lot of food porn in this film. A LOT. What type of food porn you may ask? Close up after close up of the juiciest, greasiest most amazing cuban food you have ever seen. I could almost smell the empanadas in the very empty theater.Jon Favereau did a good job with this one. Not Swingers Favreau but I'm okay with that. The movie is exactly what it shows in the trailer. Favreau does a great job playing a man who begins anew with his career and the relationship with his son. I'm sure this small indie feeling flick was much needed for the actor/director who has been up to big blockbuster movies like Iron Man and Cowboys and Aliens. I hope he does more small work like this, he's a easy guy to "root for" on the big screen. The supporting cast on the other hand is questionable at best. Hoffman does a good job making the asshole boss seem a bit more three dimensional. John Leguizamo and Scarlett Johansson felt forced into the script and was very cookie cutter feeling. All I have to say about Sofia Vergara's character is that I wish she was MY ex-wife. Overall it was a movie thats much needed nowadays-A feel good movie with food porn. Now if only Panama City had some great food trucks.

Verdict 7/10 At least rent it (or download it or stream it, whatever)
